My wife just got a new pearl and she has a KB/usage data plan (she doesnt use that much).

Anyways, I installed Opera mini no problem. I then tried to install MetsFans amazing ColorPearl program OTA and it wants to invoke the browser.

2 Questions:
1) Is there a way to set the pearl to use Opera as the browser all the time (no invoking the built in browser)?

2) More importantly, when I try the ColorPearl OTA download it tries to invoke the browser, but then gives an error message saying "Your device does not currently have any Browser Configuration Service Book Entries." Does anyone know why I get this error?

In order to install programs over the air the BlackBerry Browser has to be used. Opera Mini can't be used for that. Pera Mini also cannot be set to be the default browser.

For the second issue it would seem as though the appropriate Service Books haven't been sent to the device. You will need to follow the following steps:

You need to use the BlackBerry browser for downloading anything OTA. This would also require a BlackBerry Data Plan.

I don't know if you can set the default browser to be Opera. (Don't think you can.)
If you could, you'd set it here:
Options > Advanced Options > Browser > Default Browser Configuration = Opera

You're also getting service book errors because you don't have a BlackBerry Data Plan provisioned on your account.

Thanks for the info. She doesn't have a data plan, but she does have the pay per use medianet plan. I would assume either way she uses the browser.

Oh well, maybe I will just boot hers up with my SIM and download it that way.
