Uninstall (from your PC) the firmware you don't want. Install (on your PC) the firmware you want. Wipe the device and then start DM.

Thanks Sanders, all OK now.
have formatted the device - removed the usb cable, installed the Rogers os (101) removed the vendor file then plugged the usb cable back. started the desktop manager which I haven't touched and all went perfect. less than 15 min later I was having my device back up and running better than ever before!
