Default MMS is horrible - what the heck?

Please Login to Remove!

Alright, so I have never been a huge picture message guy, but lately friends have been sending them to me... I swear about one out of every four actually comes through!

The picture NEVER comes through the first time I get it. I always need to retrieve the content. Then, it is usually a few times doing this before the picture shows OR it just ends up blank and the retrieve option is no longer there.

Sometimes it will just come through blank and the retrieve option isnt there to begin with.

TMO service with the latest .103 loaded.

Is this an OS issue, TMO issue, or what? It is driving me crazy and its a pain for both sides if you tell them to resend, resend, resend just to get a picture.

It's a known issue with all Pearls.

It's pretty much unavoidable (though, some people have better luck than others).

When someone sends you an MMS, reply and tell them to resend the picture to your BlackBerry's email address.
I have never had the same issue with blank messages when using email, instead of receiving a basic MMS.

(I have this problem a lot.)

I, too, have had these issues on T-Mobile with my 8700g. It happens a LOT less frequently since I upgraded my OS. Also, go to Options > MMS and make sure that the Automatic Retrieval is set to Always.

Sometimes what also works is a battery pull. So if doesn't come through the first time, perform a battery pull and then try again.

I had that problem a few times with my 8700g on t-mo.

What I did, called up T-Mo. They made some changes and that was it. Worked for months, problem happened again, called them again. Haven't had the problem since.

Then again my 8700g didn't have an MMS service book or anything (at that time and they said it you'll only see the MMS service book on the pearl) But now there is an MMS service book. Suprised you'd be having that trouble on a 8100.

Default mms picture blanks

Until yesterday I was getting nothing appearing from MMS, so I contacted tech support from T-Mobile and they re-set it all. Works a treat now.

Me and my fiance have this problem all the time. What sucks is that I called T-mobile and all they said was have everyone resize there pics to the smallest size and you should receive the message. I tried resizing and that does work, but I dont think I should have to do that.

ya, i've called numerous times. If someone tells you that, hang up and call again. It has to do with them not setting up the account and they gotta "refresh" something, etc etc. All things done behind the scene. You just gotta call and nag to get them to fix it.

I wonder if its just Tmobile? I have Cingular/AT&T and the picture quality is better than I thought it would be. No problems yet.
