My husband and I just got our new Pearls yesterday. I've installed some app's since then (google maps, colorpearl, opera mini, beyond411) and when I leave my phone and return to it the time will be wrong. I have to go into options and reselect the correct time zone and save. This has happened 3 times today.

Any ideas?

So, is the Time Zone changing, or the time? I have never heard of the Time Zone changing by itself.

When you sync to the Desktop Manager on the PC, you can UNcheck Update Data Automatically.

Well I only notice it because the clock on the BB will say (for example) 5:43am, when really it's 3:43pm. So i'll go in to change it and it will show a totally different time zone from the one I selected (Central Time). So it seems as though the time zone changes, which of course would change the time.

My 8703e just started doing the same thing. It changes the time zone to some foreign country all by itself. I've reset by removing and replacing the battery but that didn't help.

I'm with JS, above. My experience is with an 8700g now and a 7100t before, both on BIS. I've never had time zone setting change on it's own. If your time is changed drastically all the sudden, check if desktop manager is set to adjust handset clock when you connect.

desktop manager always changes the time on the BB, i just syncronized the time with my computer with the time on my phone. Is the time and zone on your computer different than the one on your phone?

This happened to me today too!!! I had set it on Arizona time and it got set to something that I can't even pronounce. I just got my pearl yesterday so if it keeps doing that im gonna take it back and see what at&t says about it

I bet your running Vista, Be sure to Uncheck Update devices date and time in Desktop Manager

Here's the thing, repeating part of what has already been posted. If you sync your blackberry with a PIM (such as Outlook) on your desktop computer or laptop, make sure:

(a) that the time zone setting on your blackberry is set to the same as the PIM on the computer. If you travel and change the time or zone setting on your blackberry, be sure and return it to the same as the computer before you sync.

(b) Somewhere in the the sync module in desktop manager is the enable/disable check box for syncing the device clock when connected. Uncheck (disable) if that is what you desire (which is probably what most will want to do).

I had the same problem when I first got my Pearl, but mine was OS related. My time zone would change arbitrarily to Eniwetok time zone - I don't know where that is or how to pronounce it, but I do know it will sure screw up an alarm clock setting! After talking to AT&T tech support they said it was a known glitch and was fixed in the most recent OS. After installing I have not had the problem since. I dont know if this applies though because your new phone should ship with the most recent OS.
