Did you put the tcp settings in after installing .107? Check to make sure you spelled voicestream correctly, as well.

I had the problem with it when I installed .107 also. I just followed the instructions it told me to do. It said go to "Tools, settings, and perform the connections test." I did just that and it was all fixed.

If that doesnt work though(since I think you are past that if you reinstalled) then make sure you have the right settings for inputed for the connection. I always just call and talk to a rep about what setting it is.

Maybe if someone knows the setting off the top of their head then they can post it. I dont.

I think he already had the settings. I went through this yesterday with someone who had spelled voicestream wrong.

APN:wap.voicestream.com

username and password is blank

militman, you might check out those faq's. Lots of good info there.

Did you check permissions for Opera? Go to Options >Advanced Options >Applications. Scroll down to Opera and hit the menu button. Select "Edit Permissions." Then hit the menu key again and select "Reset Firewall Prompts." Now try Opera again and do the Network setup under Tools.

You are on TMobile (US) correct?

Install Opera.

Go to Options >Advanced Options >TCP.

fill in the following, exactly:

APN:wap.voicestream.com
Username:
Password:

Leave username and password blank.
Save settings.

Restart Opera
Go to Tools and run the network setup utility or connections utility.

Please double check your TCP settings closely as one mis spell will make it not work.

I'm having issues with Opera as well. I received it in the middle of browsing. I didn't change to a new version or anything. It says "Error java.io.IOException: Bad DNS Address."
It says this for every web page I try to go to. I have checked my APN settings and it is correct. I also reset the firewall prompts like John suggested. I am still having the issues. I have even tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling, still no luck. It's kind of weird that it would start to error out of no where.

Did you have this all working before the upgrade? Try TMobile again. Ask for Blackberry/PDA support. Tell them you are having trouble with apps that use TCP/IP. There may be something setup wrong in your provisioning.

Also, check Options >Mobile Network >Data Services. Make sure it says "On" and not "off" or "off when roaming."

You do have a data plan, right?

Peach, I have helped a few users set up Opera Mini and the TCP settings, and it just would not work. They left the settings as it, and a couple of days later it started working--weird, but true.

Also, have you pulled the battery (while powered on) to reboot after setting the TCP/APN. It does not "take" until reboot.

Good luck.

I have this same prob although i did not try it yet some guy told me to get the service books resent.I've not done it on this phone yet but when i had my N-Gage and i would wipe it for some reason I would have to get the service books resent everytime and reset the APN for opera to work right again. Can't hurt as an IF ALL ELSE FAILS thing.

Yeah, got it working.
here is what I did.
Hard reset,
Still didn't work
Next I went into the Opera menu,
Changed the protocol to Socket (from HTTP)
Ran the Network setup
Everything is happy now. :D
