Default Bluetooth and music

Well this may be a dumb question, but is there anyway that you can play music from your BB through you Bluetooth Headset.

In case I am walking somewhere and wanna listen to music but dont want the wire going to the BB and I can be ready for handsfree phone calls.

Just wondering.

I believe this is possible if the BlackBerry supports that as well as the headset. I think the BlackBerry Curve supports it right now (not sure of what headsets do, though). The Pearl may get streaming Bluetooth support someday, but it will need to be via a software update.

I think the short answer is no, but this is a little more complicated than that. XXXDev has a new free media player that I just installed and while the sound doesn't appear to be stereo, I do get sound through my BT headset. I think Dollars5 has a player that is supposed to be to do this, but I wasn't comfortable enough with the information I was getting to spend $30.

Most of this is speculation based on memory from a non-techie. The only thing I can say for certain is that the freebie from XXX is working for me. Go to the Aftermarket Software section of this site and you should see the thread.

The more refined mediaPlayer from Dollars5 has supported the bluetooth audio for quuite some time. Mono only to a standard BT headset.
