Please Login to Remove!

I'm using Outlook 2003 and Blackberry Desktop Manager (BDM) 4.2.2 SP2.

BDM allws me to sybc my Calendar abd Address Book and Tasks but NOT my e-mails. This choice is greyed out and unavailable to me.

Could you tell me why this is? How can I get sync to sync my e-mails on Outlook with BDM?

On BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) it is not possible to sync email and messages. That is possible with BES service.

If you're not running BES, use the Mail Connector program.

The only downside is that you need to have Outlook and your computer running any time you want emails pushed to your phone, and your sent message (from your BB) sent and included in your email outbox on Outlook.

You can also Reconcile emails with your inbox.

Default Synching email with Pearl 8100

Further to my earlier query, I don't know much about this technically... I can and do receive email to my BB and also to my Outlook. I can and do read and respond via my BB and my PC. My issue is that when I synchronise my BB with Outlook I get my Contacts and my Calendar reconciled but not my emails. Therefore even when I have read all my emails on one device they are still there unread on the other. How do I know if I am running BIS or BES and where do I find the Mail Connector programme?
Thanks in advance.

Using Mail Connector, Outlook will recognize if I have read the email on my Blackberry, but my Blackberry will not update that the message has been read by Outlook. Even if I reconcile. Annoying, but during those times where you are at work and active email is coming and going, I usually just hit "Mark Prior as Read" to avoid having to open them all on both BB and Outlook.

Check your service providers website/account page for information about BlackBerry's Mail Connector.

so no one has made a utility that can simply pull my BIS email messages from my phone to my desktop? That's crazy!

Sure they have, it is called BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Service). While it doesn't exactly do as you described (pull from your BlackBerry to your desktop) it does similarly.

Your "desktop" must have some type of email client, such as Outlook, to go and get the messages from somewhere.

Unfortunately not.. but I haven't had it become much of an annoyance.

It actually works quite well.

It just redirects messages.
