Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

That is strange because I am able to view PDFs from right within my email. I believe, once I upgraded to OS 4.2.1, I had to install the BlackBerry Attachment Service after upgrading. It was an entry in the Desktop Manager. Not sure if it was that, or the fact that I had upgraded to the 4.2.1 OS.

I don't remember seeing that option, although, I don't really use my BB for viewing attachments all that much,
and if any, it will be Excel or Word Docs... not typically a PDF.

Give it a shot though, and if there is that option, more power to BB & RIM

I am able to view .xls (excel) documents, .doc, .pdf, etc. I have not downloaded any special viewers or anything. I don't think I've received a document that I couldn't view on the Pearl. (except for video)

I've had this Pearl since 2006 and it hasn't let me down whatsoever. I absolutely LOVE this phone.

Correct. In fact, I just received two documents today a .doc and a .pdf and was able to view them with no issues whatsoever.

I have gmail on my blackberry, and I'm unable to view ANY e-mail attachments. Anyone else have this issue?

I just checked, and from the Gmail app, I could view all of the attachments (although the attachments came through just in text format and it looked very primitive).

How are you trying to view the attachments? Do you go into the email, click on the attached doc and select "View Attachment"?

Did you click on the menu button once you opened the email and choose to open the attachment? If you did and it's not working for you......Beamberry works like a charm.
