Default Emails are duplicating as a text message

Please Login to Remove!

I've had my Pearl for 2 months, but finally added the data package yesterday. After activating the data service with the new AT&T (formerly Cingular), I added my personal email (@sbcglobal.net).

Now with every email I receive, I also receive a text message that is exactly the same as the email message. I've been on the phone for an hour now with AT&T for over an hour, and they can't figure it out.

HELP! I'm paying $40 bucks for a data package with AT&T. I think it should work correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Are you really getting a "text message" or are you just getting the email in the "Messages" folder as well as the "youremail@sbcgloblal.net" folder? If you're just getting the same mail in each folder that's normal. The "Messages" folder is a folder for ALL messages including text and emails. Emails will show in both folders and there is no way around that.

You can separate SMS out by going to Messages >Options >General Options. Scroll to the bottom and change the settings for sms and email inboxes.
