I got my pearl dropped, and now my screen has a dark color (kind of) in the center, it still displays images fine, but the dark shape is clearly visible under a white background. My pearl is from cingular, but I don't have the insurance on it, so I wonder, RIM may have a warranty option for their blackberries or not, and if not, how can I fix my screen (replacing it?)

if there is no way to replace my phone, does any of you guys know a trusted company that has a replacement parts for my pearl and how to do this at home.

what companies are good ones to insure my blackberry with?

When I had insurance I was with Asurion. When my screen had a scratch I was able to have it replaced. The deductable was $110, though. I know I could have had it repaired but I wanted a new one. The serivce was quick and easy. I was able to start my claim on the Internet.

Regarding the dark spot in the centre of the screen, I don't think it's from dropping it. I've purchased two Pearls recently, one was used and the second was brand new. Both have the same dark spot I think you're refering to. It's not entirely blacked out but it's definitely noticeable on a white screen. Almost like when a CRT has an image burnt into it. It's a very faint spot about the size of pea.

I just assumed all Pearls were like this, but no one else has complained.

yea, it's completely like u've described, but the problem is it wasn't there when i first bought it, so that's why I think it is from the drop.
But after reviewing the replacing price, I think It'd be better to buy a new one rather than fixing it ><
