Default Application Won't Delete/System Update on a Mac?

Please Login to Remove!

hi, i'm a new blackberry user and frankly, i'm a bit frustrated about the lack of support for mac users. anyhow, i downloaded pocketmac to be able to sync my computer and to be able to install applications onto my pearl. i tried loading im plus on my phone and it didn't work. the icon shows up in my menu but when i click on it, i get an error message. so, i tried to uninstall and that's not working either. the application still shows up in my menu. i tried pulling the battery out, and i also tried manually deleting it by going to the advanced options. the problem is, im plus doesn't even show up in the list. any ideas on how to get this unusable application off my phone?

also, i noticed that there's a system update for the pearl, but apparently you need the desktop manager which is only available for pc to do that. yeah...any mac users know away to update the pearl from a mac? thanks!

Ugh...so lame! I guess they don't expect mac users to need to update their phones. Bah. That's a pretty genius solution you've got though. I may just use a friend's pc, download the update and desktop manager, update my phone, hopefully delete the bum application, and erase it all off his comp.

Look through the list of modules. You'll see that under Advanced Options >Applications >menu key >View modules. look for any modules associated with IM+ and delete them. Also, go to Options >Advanced Options >Service books and delete any service books related to IM+. When you're done with all that, reboot the device by removing the battery and reinserting.

For a good IM application try JiveTalk. It's a trouble free app and works quite well.
