Default Cell Phone Only

Please Login to Remove!

Hey Guys....

Im from Brazil, and 2 months ago I travelled to NY with my Pearl. I thought that my unlimited data plan was free for use worldwide. I checked email alot, used yahoo messenger, google maps and etc....

When the bill came up, I had to pay a fortune of data plan, because I was in international roaming. The unlimited data plan is only unlimited in the country where you belong.

Is there any away to disable all the data connection, and use only the blackberry as a normal phone? Im asking that, cause Ill have to travel again and I dont want to pay this fortune again!

In the profile menu, I choose Phone Only, but even with this profile set, I was able to check email and use data....It means, that this is not the right way to do it....Does anybody know how to use the phone just as a phone in international trips?

Thanks a lot!

Phone Only is an alert profile. It just controls the audible/vibratory alerts for the various events on your device.

In short... Phone Only will cause your BlackBerry to vibrate/ring only for phone calls. Email, SMS, etc... will be silent.

yea, everything is uber expensive if you go out of your own country. i have att, this was before i got my BB, but with my old phone, it was 50 cents a text, and my minutes were 79 cents when i went to canada.
