Well not sure if Tmo pearls are kinda different but I'm pretty sure they are the same. I need to know if you look where the headset jack goes in if you look in there, is there a little type of ball on the top inside the connection? I hope I am making since but apparently the jack keeps eating up my headset even my adapter so it has to be the phone. I'm just trying to figure out if its the phone headset jack itself.

I don't see a ball. I see one tiny brass-looking contact on the back side of the jack (toward the battery cover.)

Mine doesnt have a ball either. I know you are looking at TMo phones and mine is Cingular but mine is just like what John said.

I see the one that is straight ahead this one is kinda in the middle on the top.

Well tmo is sending me a replacement. I even asked the lady and she said there is nothing sticking down on the top inside the connection. Sucks going to have to open up the trackball and take out the black tape.

I know it's a little late but ditto for me.

I checked out a att red pearl and it had the same thing mine has.
