Question media player "not able to display files"

my gf just got an 8100 cuz mine is SOOOO GANGSTER... we loaded a bunch of pics and music onto it's media card, it says it can't display file whenever we try to play... it doesn't play the demo stuff either. i really have no clue where to start looking, it must be something wrong with the media player i'm guessing...

any help would be greatly appreciated

What software is your girl's 8100 running?
(Options -> About, couple lines down or so...)

I looked into this for one of my girls who just recently snagged an AT&T Pearl, after playing with mine..
And it seems that this was a common error among older OS's from what I found.

A quick update to the software was the main resolution.
