Are you trying to view the device memory, the Micro SD Card?

If you are trying to view those files from a PC, you must enable Mass Storage on the Media Card to do so. Options > Advanced > Media Card > Mass Storage Mode = ON

So where are you trying to view the files from? PC or BB?

Is it plugged into the USB to your PC? Give us some more information of the circumstance.

I am trying to help.

Aside from what JS asked, are you sure you're opening the correct file? I think the keywords here are "system files"- since I'm somewhat of a pc geek, I'd think RIM and your carrier wouldn't want you to have access to any system files so you wont hose the operating system. Somewhat like XP hiding your system files by default. Just a thought.

What is the path that you took to get to your media files? I have never seen that error on my Pearl and I have tried every combination possible without it blowing up, lol.
