Default T-Mobile Blackberry Unlimited E-mail Add-on $9.99

Please Login to Remove!

"Add access to BlackBerry's powerful e-mail functionality to your myFaves plan. The myFaves BlackBerry Unlimited E-mail Add-on includes unlimited BlackBerry Internet E-mail." for $9.99

This new feature does it by any chance include Blackberry Messenger? I have a voice plan and unlimited text for $19.99. I don't really want to pay another $20 bucks for data, all i want is Blackberry Messenger, whats the cheapest feature to get this working? I was hoping this new feature turns on Blackberry Messenger as well even though its not listed?

I saw another thread where someone (I think LunkHead) had put this on his account (the $9.99 plan) and it DID work with BlackBerry Messenger. I will do some searching.

Here is the thread. You will notice towards the bottom where LunkHead's post is listed. He tells what works with that plan: T-Mobile's New Data Plans

Here is the update as of today....

The device with the $9 email only plan:

Email is working and BBMessenger is working... I see NO extra data charges on my account as yet for BBMessenger use...

BBWeather no longer works, nor does PDSports or Beyond411....

That's bacause Beyond411, BBWeather use data, but BB Messenger evidently just goes through like email/txt, with no charges. I think the $9.99 email with $5 for 400 txts is a good option for those who don't need the browser feature. I don't use it much myself, nor does my wife.

Yes I am aware of that................

I thought T-Mo might have left open channels for 3rd party apps to work... And they did until today....

Thanks

Would turning on the 5.99 Web&Apps feature enable Blackberry Messenger?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.0.8993/58; U; en))

I agree. I believe you will at least need the $9.99 e-mail plan in order to get the BlackBerry Messenger to work.

Breaking News... While figuring this whole thing out I was able to get a new feature not yet 'released' on my account, the Blackberry support lady from T-Mobile said its currently in the final stages of testing in the "Miami, Orlando, Tampa" Markets... So It may only be good for us in Florida but who knows maybe you can get it anywhere?? Figured I'd let you guys know as it would be comming to everyone soon I would assume if 'testing' goes ok.

myFaves BlackBerry Messaging Add-on Add BlackBerry's powerful e-mail functionality plus messaging to your myFaves plan. The myFaves BlackBerry Messaging Add-on includes unlimited BlackBerry Internet E-mail, plus unlimited domestic text, instant, picture, and video messaging.

$19.99 for text, picture, video and Blackberry Messenger and EMAIL!!!!

** Oh and keep in mind I do NOT have a MyFaves plan even though it says MyFaves infront of it, still works!

I switched to the 9.99 feature, it seems that I can still visit any WAP site I please, and Google Maps works just fine, although Windows Live Search does not.
I wanted to sign up for the 5.99 WAP internet plan but My T-Mobile says that the two plans are incompatible when I try- it seems this plan still allows for WAP- works for me!

I'm on a TMO Curve and wondering if the following work on the $9.99 "BlackBerry Unlimited E-mail Add-on" plan:

* PINs

* UMA / Hotspot at Home

I suspect both are OK on the $9.99 plan - but would love a confirmation.

I finally got around to calling TMO. Answers:

* PINs will not work

* UMA / Hotspot at Home is unaffected by the $9.99 BB Email add on

When email is mentioned in the 9.99 plan, is that POP email or BB email (i.e., [email address] email)?

I am getting my wife a BB and all she will really use is BB email, but I want her to have push email and not just POP email checked every so often and I want to know if the 9.99 plan will provide push BB email. She will not be on a BES.

Thanks!
