so i just got my new Blackberry Pearl and i really enjoy it.

i would like to be able to keep my text messages in one folder and my emails in another. when i click on the messages tab i see both my text messages and my emails. and when i click on my email tab i see just my emails. how do i keep them seperate? i would like to keep my text messages with my messages tab and my emails with my certain email tab.

1. upgrade to latest version (107, see sticky at top of 8100 forum)
2. in your message list, click the menu button > options > general options > sms and email inboxes: separate.

EDIT: you can see if that option is available to you now, but i would guess no. it was a new option introduced in the newer OS versions (can't remember exactly what version, somebody else can chime in...)

Yeah, this was introduced in 4.2.1.107

thanks guys...i had the option on my phone without having to download anything. but the problem now is it only reads email messages in the message folder and i have to click the tab and chose SMS inbox....i would really like to be able to just read text messages in my message tab...and emails in the email tab.

any tips would be great! thanks.

You cannot remove email from the "messages" folder. You can remove SMS to its own folder, but all email will remain in the main message folder.
