I don't think they will if it has water damage...but can't hurt to ask.

generally NO but sometimes reps don't even look at the phone so you can always try

They may be able to tell that there is water damage. I believe there is a sticker somewhere that shows this.

Any rep who is with it will likely check for three things:
1) water damage indicator (in battery compartment) - turns pink when exposed to moisture

2) visible physical damage - scratches, lens cracks, etc.

3) phone works

As I recall, the wording re: the 14 day "buyers' remorse" period states that you'd be returning the phone in, essentially, the same condition you received it in. You may get lucky with this, but I wouldn't count on it.

Yep. Even through Asurion they check the moisture indicator before they send you a new one. I didn't realize what it was till someone later mentioned it. Good luck. You may get lucky and get a lazy rep.

So, let me see if I understand. You purchased a phone. You were careless and dropped it in Sprite. You want to return it to the store and not tell them there is anything wrong with it. Sounds like fraud to me. If you can live with yourself, go right ahead.

It stinks.

i would suggest adding the handset insurance (if you havent already done so).
you have 14 days to subscribe to that service. $5.99/mo $110 deductible

Water damage is the number one way people break phones. Let me tell you COUNTLESS people come in daily thinking the reps are not gonna know that you got your phone wet. I even had customers cut out little pieces of paper to glue in place of the indicator, or remove the indicator completely trying to trick us into taking the phone back. Do you know how many times I have heard the excuse "I just got it 2 days ago how could I have got it wet?" THat is the CRAZIEST logic I ever heard. And you have to explain "maam you could walk out here and get your phone wet two seconds after you buy it" . I had a kid come in saying his phone "mysteriously" lost signal. Surprise surprise I removed the battery cover and water poured out. I then asked the kid, oh did you happen to go swimming with your phone? ashamed kid . "yes" and I said, oh, do you think the two events may be correlated? Oh and theres always the good "it was broken before I got it wet" . Cell phone reps get lied to constantly because customers think we are idiots. Save yourself a little dignity and just buy a new phone please.
