i have a t-mobile pearl 8100 and was wondering if someone can tell me how to unlock it to use with other gsm companys

If you have been a good standing customer for 90 days T-Mobile will give you an unlock code for free. That is how I got mine.

yah i called they said there gunna email the instuctions in less the 24hrs ill tell u how it goes

Yeah they (TMO) are very good about it...had my original 8100 and my replacement refurb both unlocked by them. You'll have the code in a day or so.

i guess since im on a employee plan i cant do it
