Default Wet Pearl Closed Thread

Not sure why the thread was closed, but wanted to add for people's future reference:

The "wet phone" indicator is a tiny white square located directly to the right of the Micro-SD card slot when looking at the back of the phone. It's pretty hard to miss. You don't even need to take the battery out to see it.

I actually think it's interesting they include this on the phone. My keypad recently went haywire and they asked about that and if it had been dropped.

Does anyone know if they Pearl also has an accelerometer that logs high-g events? My guess would be no for cost reasons, but chip IC accelerometers are available so it wouldn't surprise me. And no, I've never smashed my phone.

Also, while I don't condone scamming stores, I've had plenty of experiences with clueless reps and manipulative telecom companies. My goldenruleometer is leaning heavily against cell phone companies. Of course dropping electronics in water should have an opportunity cost.

If you read that thread it is pretty clear as to why it was closed.

There are LOTS of other wet BB threads that are open for posting. I've posted in MANY of them, myself.

JSanders - You caught me, I made up goldenruleometer, but was it really that complex to figure out? A moderator that flames is however. Rereading the post leads me to believe it was closed because a girl with a cute picture was offended. I'm just saying.

John - you're right, the original poster and I both should have searched the forums for wet phones, there are a couple of good posts. I haven't found any about "impact loggers" though and that was the intent behind the original post.

I'll admit to be a bit surprised by the vitriolic responses to what I felt was a rather innocuous post. No complaints though, BBForums is extremely useful.

I repeat: "If you read that thread it is pretty clear as to why it was closed."

You interpret what you want, lol.

Seeing as how there is still no valid explanation other than that the OP was vaguely discussing a poor plan to scam his local store, I'll stick to my original guess. The power of blonde is amazing, I really don't fault you for it.

Just to make this productive here is a link to the best post I've found on the moisture indicators:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilet-bath.html

The pictures in the first post mark the "super-secret" indicators located on the side rails. Still no word on other scam prevention RIM included in this beautiful device (that can occasionally be difficult at times, just like blondes )

Since the degree of "valid" is obviously an opinion, you have yours, and that is that. Let it be.

I think the best "moisture indicator" pictures were recently deleted off this board by the original poster.

How's this?

Thread closed. And you're not even blonde. If you'd like to question how we do our jobs here then go find another forum.
