Alright i installed all the software for my pearl to my laptop and it worked perfectly for a week or so but now its giving me issues. I have an Hp laptop and cingular as my service provider neither do i think has anything to do with my problem but i thought ied just let ya know ;) Now when i plug my phone to the lap top with a USB cord it hesitates a minute then a bubble window pops up and says "USB Device Not Recognized" and then explains that its malfunctioned..... but the thing is there are 4 USB plugs on my laptop and all of them send this error..... Im curious on what the issue is because the laptop worked fine for a week or so and then all the sudden decided to not recognize my phone anymore... Is there a way i can fix this? Ive tryed uninstalling the blackberry software and reinstalling it and nothing happens i still get the error. Replys greatly appreciated

I would make sure you have the latest version of the Desktop Manager. You can compare your version to the one listed on the carrier site. Other things to check...do you have any other drives mapped? Any new devices installed on the PC recently?

yes i have the latest version of desktop manager and no i dont think i have any other drivers mapped... and the newest device was blue tooth

Well if you are getting the unrecognized device it means that your USB is Ok. The drivers are not recognizing the phone. Re-Installing DM should have corrected the issue....

I'm guessing you tried a battery pull while the Pearl is on and then re-installing. Try connecting again? Might not help but it can't hurt!
