I was wondering if anyone knows any software that i could download .alx for instant messaging over SMS. I dont have a data plan so i cant download OZ messenger, i need it to install over the PC. I am a fido customer, and i tryed that MSN mobile, that was great, all my emails were direct to my phone and i could go on MSN without internet on my phone by I did not have a text plan so it cost me a kidney. I took care of the sms costs by kind of..... switching my service center number in my options so now its free... until i get caught. Anyways I would love to get Im on my phone over SMS, please help.

you know you could add the BB connect pla on your account and it will work just like any other BB service

what is the BB connect plan, and how much is it? Do i get like free internet and email and everything with it, I dont plan on spending much money, i just wanna use what i got for free which is SMS to IM.

How about doing things the honest way and just pay for a text messaging plan (which is cheap) or go for broke and pay for a BB data plan? I know (or have read) that data plans are expensive in Canada, but why have a BB if you're going to cripple its effectiveness?

the BB connect package that Fido offers is meant for the E62 we have. but once added to your account it will work with your 8100, they are not cheap tho

the prices are:
$40 for 7MBs which is normally good enought for moderate use
$60 for 25MBs which is good for heavy use
and then $100 for 200 MBs...

its not cheap... and those prices are on top of your voiceplan

other then that the SMS bundles with fido are (if you have voicemail and call display) then its $16 a month for call display, name display, voicemail, who called service, 2500 instant message (sent) and 2500 SMS sent... its always free to receive SMS or instant messages with Fido
