Default Tethering constantly dropping - 10-02-2007, 05:41 PM

So I have my BB tethered to my laptop, and sometimes it works wonderfully. Connected all night long, but there are times where it cant stay connected for 5 minutes, even when it is receiving a stronger signal. On top of that when the connection does drop, or I disconnect it prior to the drop, it will redial and get stuck at "Verifying username and password" which my provider (Cellular One) does not require. Once it gets here, it hangs, and I have to use softreset, wait for the reset, and then reconnect it and redial, which it may be connected again for another 6 minutes. I have all of the correct settings according to the FAQ. Any ideas on how to have it be a little more stable? Other than SoftReset I have also tried turning off the radio and turning it back on, simply power cycling the BB and registering to a different option in the HRT, none of which work.

The really odd thing is that the connection technically never "drops" or disconnects, it just simply stops working. Web pages stop loading, any IM software disconnects, gmail notifier quits working. All the while the dialup icon in the task bar still shows connectivity and activity. I have the latest OS and up-to-date desktop software. Also, I am still able to browse the internet on my BB even when it is not working for my laptop.
