Question Newbie Pearl user Outlook Calendar sync problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi I have just received a Blackberry 8100 Pearl from work but am experiencing sync problems.

Syncing with Outlook 2007 (as I used to with my WM5 equipped O2), works to a point. Unfortunately, most of my recurring appointments appear on the BB on the wrong day: one day later than they should. The BB date and time is synced with my PC. When I open the series of the appt on the BB, it says the wrong day (eg Thurs instead of Wed), which I can sometimes change at the BB end. In one case a regular Thurs appt is set as Wed and Thu, and I cannot change the Wed on the device.

I know there must be some logic to this but is more of a challenge with the BB OS! Anyone have any suggestions?

TIA llashero

I think there is a known issue with outlook 2007. I'm not positive though

There seem to be a few issues with Outlook, although none specific to my weird problem. Anyone else experienced this? (ie bump)

I sync with outlook 2007, and I haven't encountered any of the problems you mentioned. I have quite a few recurring events on my calendar, although they are not all day events.

I think I have fixed this: it was a simple matter of unchecking "Update device's date and time" in Intellisync. I noticed after each deletion of Calendar in the BB and resync, the BB's time defaulted to GMT -12, which is odd, given my PC with Outlook is set correctly to GMT +10. When I tried to correct the BB time, all the recurring appts went haywire.

The fix was to delete the Calendar items in the BB, then resync with the update date/time unchecked and it seems to have synced correctly.

I have put this fix in in case someone else has this problem with Outlook 2007.
