Default Trouble deleting an Email and SMS

Please Login to Remove!

Hoping someone can help! I have an email and a text message I'm unable to delete. A few weeks ago I managed to move the email into a folder called 'saved messages', so at least it's out of my inbox. Would love to be able to delete both of them permanently though. A couple of other people at work have the same issue with text messages. Would love some ideas.

Thanks

Try pulling the battery with the phone on and restart. See if you can delete them then. You should be able to.

If you saved them you cannot delete from your regular inbox. Go to the inbox and Menu>View Saved Messages....from there you can follow your normal deleting options...

Good Luck!

P.S. and a battery pull may very well be in order as stated above.

Thanks - the suggestion to pull the battery while turned on worked a treat for the text message that wouldn't delete. The person who did this said a few other messages went with it - not sure why, but she didn't seem to care.

The 'saved' email still won't go. Tried pulling the battery and then tried deleting it from 'Saved Messages' - it just won't budge. Not to worry.

Thanks for the advice and suggestions!

I'm having the same problem but with a video clip stored on the BB internal memory.

Any ideas?

ok it seems to be a software flaw in the OEM version from your service provider. this is basically how the bb operates. when you delete something it will write over the data with a blank string coding, normally hex or a bunch of zero's. anyways sometimes the original file name still exists even though it may not actual exist in the phone anymore, hence why you cant delete it, because maybe its not actually there. try connecting to desktop manager and opening up the backup/restore option and then click on advanced. under the device scroll down to the saved messages section or maybe even the whole sms category and clear it then hit refresh. this may clear that pesky little text

For mass delete: In Messages position your cursor on a date line and press Menu>Delete Prior (this will delete all messages from that day back. Or you can hold down Shift while rolling the trackball to select muliple messages.

Reconcile now will reconcile messages between your email account and the BB. I think it's primary use is for BES.
