anything new on the possibility of at&t getting this?
I have an upgrade I can use and I'm holding out for a newer blackberry (I like the bold, but I got tired of my curve and went back to the pearl, therefore, something smaller is better for me)
I'm really anxious to get may hands on the 82XX flip. I'm with ATT and have no intention of changing carriers. I have not been able to locate anything anywhere with recent updates hinting at the possbility that ATT still plans to offer this model at some point, or when that point might be. So I'm hoping someone could help me understand why it would NOT be a good idea to get an unlocked version to use on the ATT network. ANY drawbacks to this (e.g., unable to get automatic ATT or Blackberry updates, compatability issues, etc)? I have just never done this and have to think there is a drawback somewhere to the process, and advantages of some type to having a carrier dedicated phone.

I use a Flipberry with AT&T and have been able to get everything working incliding MMS. I had to change the TCP setting to AT&T and setup online access to my BIS account to setup email. From the online BIS I sent the service books and then the send/receive for email began working.
It is important to use online BIS to send the books to get MMS to work and setup you email.
I love the larger keyboard comming from a Curve.

According to the press release dated 10/13/2008, "the BlackBerry® Pearl™ Flip 8220 smartphone—the first BlackBerry flip phone—is now available in the U.S., exclusively from T-Mobile."
T-Mobile had a 90 day exclusive when they released the Pearl 8100 and AT&T released it after the 90 days was up. Will it play out the same way? I hope so or I will be grabbing an unlocked phone.
