Default Service not enabled for this handheld - 08-22-2009, 03:59 AM

can somebody help me. i just bought a blackberry 8220 when i tried to get onto IM it says Service not enabled for this handheld but the browser is works fine. this is i try when i connected to wi-fi because i dont have any messenging and data plan. has anyone ever had this problem ?Thanks

What IM service are you using? If it requires data, you will most likely need a BB data plan.

Probably the BB dataplan if you want the BB to work as it is designed.

i have the same problem and i have a data plan already as well. i am using bb 9000 with 4.6. any help?
