Default Just got my BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 - 08-23-2009, 12:46 AM

Just got it today from Verizon, The phone seems cheaply made! The battery door is almost falling off, there are several white dots on the screen as if the screen is defective, there was a chip/scratch on the device fresh out of the box, and there is a few specs of dust under the external screen! This is unacetable in my opinion considering I paid full retail price for the phone. Anyone else have any of the above mentioned problems? And should I exchange the device out tomorrow? Over all not a bad concept for a BlackBerry/Flip style phone I like it despite all the stuff mentioned above. Any suggestions?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8900)

I would definitely exchange the device immediately. Sometimes bad devices get out there, and it may have been damaged via transportation or something. But I say get a new one from a store, and have them open it so you can inspect it.

I agree you should definitely retyrn it. By the way, the latest OS for that device was just released which I'm sure is NOT the version showing on your CD

I believe that you have 14 days to return it by policy. Sounds like that would be the best option.

1st Step in Troubleshooting: Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?
2nd Step in Troubleshooting: Pull the Battery.

Thumbs up Devices returned - 08-23-2009, 10:37 PM

Swapped the device out for a new one today, it appears that the battery door on all the Verizon 8230's are loose, such a shame they couldn't make it to fit properly, but I bought a hard snap on cover anyways so thats not a major concern. This one seems alot better , must have just got a faulty device before hand.
