Hi,
I only got my BlackBerry 8220 today and I am already having problems with it.
Once home I put my sim card in and then put the phone on charge, that's when the problems started!
Every so often while it was charging the phone would have a circle egg timer icon appear for a few minutes and then the phone would turn off and a red light would appear. Now the phone has charged the phone is still doing the same as above every so often.

Do you think the phone is broke or have I not done something? Also the phone doesn't have a micro card in it.

Thanks,
Lucy.

I think you have a defective phone. I have read about some of the 8220 devices going into loops of restarting. Bring it back to the operator to see if they'll replace it.

Take it back and get a replacement. SD card would not matter in this case.

Does it give you an error code when the hourglass appears?
