Default 8210/8220 compatible with Alltel?

I read a review on the *other* blackberry forum, and noticed it said "Quad-band radios: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (no 3G)".

I'm not exactly sure what type of network I'm on with Alltel...so will the 8210/8220 be compatible with the Alltel network? I'd jump all over an 8210 if I can, but I'm not willing to switch providers to do so...I love Alltel and their network.

Alltel is CDMA. It's not compatible.

Aw darn. That's no fun.

Has there been any talks of making the kickstart/seawolf compatible with CDMA later on down the road?

Not that I've heard. Generally, that stuff is 6-9 months behind GSM.
