Default What can the wifi do w/o bb data?

Please Login to Remove!

With an 8220 w/o a data plan will the wifi have any function at all?

I'm going to probably be getting one since they are free at Best Buy (haven't had a BB in over a year, hence you haven't seen me in a while)

(My experience with blackberries stops at the thumb-wheel models, I have never used a trackball model)

And I'm well aware that without a data plan you can't get mail over the data network.

You can use the wifi browser to browse the web. You can also download OTA applications using the wifi browser. There are a few applications that will use stand-alone wifi but not many.
