cant disable password

Default cant disable password

Please Login to Remove!
Hi - I just bought this phone -it is password enabled - I cant make a call without entering the password. I have tried to go thru settings options password then, "enabled" can be highlighted, but when I hit enter, I can never get an option to disable - & there is a little red lock next to the "enabled" -Any ideas? Thanks

IT policy is normally pushed to a BB when attached to a companys servers. The policy is in place for security purposes

Use JL_Cmder and use the "Reset to Factory" option. This will remove the password requirement.

Wow - thanks so very much - I really have no clue what I am doing - but with your help I have reset my phone & SOLVED THE PROBLEM - I love forums.

The other reason for a password requirement is the memory card. You can enable either device, password, or device+password encryption. IF either of the password options are enabled, you are required to have a password enabled on the device.
