Default HELP ME GET BACK from iPHONE

Please Login to Remove!

I did the unthinkable .... i dumped Tmobile sold my pearl and got married to AT&T via the iPhone. Well here I sit, sick of the quirks and lack of function and want a BB Curve. I think I prefer the AT&T version with GPS, i dont see a ton of value in the WiFi.

Anyone have a good "replacement" phone scheme or an in that will help me dump the iPhone and get back to BB land? At least one that wont make me go broke. And yes I was one of the ones that spent the full $600 bucks on this pretty but unfunctional device.

Sell your iPhone for as much as you can!

And buy an 8700 in the interim! To reduce your costs and get ya back to BB

I agree. I would sell the iPhone and then purchase the Curve 8310. Or you could keep the iPhone and just save up for the Curve.

I purchased an iPhone when it came out. I recently switched back to a Curve. The At&t salesman told me since the iphone doesnt have a subsidy, i would get to use my new customer subsidy on the curve. He sold me the curve for $299 plus $100 rebate.

If we could interchange sim's and blackberry plans for data i think i would get an iphone for a second phone, never to replace a blackberry.

Try Cellswapper.com - Get out of your cell phone contract - mobile contract - wireless contract

I think the idea is so cool, though I've never actually used the service.

dooks is correct, you basically agreed to a 2 yr contract and a full price phone, you should be able to get a subsidized phone.

Call ATT customer service and escalate the call to the "retention dept." or whatever the heck they call it over there. Tell them that you don't care about the $200 termination fee.... You're just pissed at the phone and the service and you're considering going back to T-mobile to get a Curve. Watch them scramble.

It's all about keeping the revenue stream; and they have A LOT of power to grant discounts, etc.

If you're getting rid of the iPhone, you can still keep the account without ETF penalty...just transfer it over to another AT&T device (ie: Curve), you don't need to activate a new line and save on activation fee... drop the iPhone data plan and subsribe to BB plan . . .

As for the iPhone, have it unlocked (ask AT&T for unlock code, see if they'll give it to you, no harm in asking) and sell it to get your Curve...

If you've only had the iPhone for less than 30 days, you can take it back to AT&T and swap it for an BB with little hassle. I'm not sure of their current policy but I think all wireless carriers have a period where you can return it without penalty. It's so people can test out the services...

I have had it since August. Well I called AT&T corp support and they did tell me they will sell me the Curve at the discounted price. The issue now is that they didnt show the 8310 in the system yet... even though people in the wild are buying them. So it looks like I just need to wait a bit till its really offical and call back to get it at a discount. Thanks for all the input guys!

I'm seriously looking at doing this too. The iPhone is a nice phone, but it's not up to RIM BB stanards... at least not yet. The battery life alone SUCKS. To say nothing about POP email driving me crazy deleting it in two or three places. The non-standard 30 pin instead of mini USB is just a design flaw carried on from the past.

Sim out of the iPhone into the BB and make the changes (shut off iphone data and add back BB data plan) online?

I too want a new BB Curve w/GPS or better yet WiFi for the screen real estate, which IMO you can't get any better than the iPhones display.

pull the sim from the iphone and stick it in the BB. Have the store change the data plan, or call at&t. Make sure they add voice mail back to the account because the iphone data plan has it included.
