I unlocked my T-Mobile 8320 Curve legitimately, through T-Mobile. I then put in my Sprint Sim card in the phone and it won't pick up any network. Surprisingly, the wifi internet worked, but I recieved the SOS for a signal. When I goto the options to manually put in my network provider, it does a scan and only shows me ATT and T-Mobile. Does this phone not work with Sprint due to CDMA issues?

Sprint sim won't work on T-Mobile in the US because Sprint is CDMA (I wouldn't classify that as issues, though).

I took the plunge today and got an 8320 ... 14 days to see if TMO is good enough for me ... I had (have) an 8703e with VZW.

Unlocked 8320 won't work for Sprint cause its not a GSM network. Can Sprint users use Verizon phones? Is it possible to unlock their phones?

No, CDMA carriers will only activate their own phones

The new 8830's have SIM cards. They are not usually activated unless you're going to use the device on a GSM network.

Same here. I'm actually calling T-Mobile tomorrow to find out what the date is in regards to when I can send it back.

'Activation Confirmation' was on the 17th, even though I didn't receive the phone until the 18th. It was already activated, so I imagine my 14 days (I thought it was 15?) starts from the 17th.

So far so good, so Verizon is probably getting the axe. I've been using it mostly at home and I did lose the signal at one point, but I was able to turn on wifi and it worked great. So with wifi at home, wifi at my Mom's house up in the boonies (I'm up there a lot) - I'm good from those ends. Mass gets pretty good T-Mobile coverage, so I think I'm good to go.

OK. I have a slightly different question. If I get an unlocked 8320 and want to use it with AT&T, is it simply a matter of plugging in my AT&T SIM?

I'm waiting for an 8310 from Amazon.com (they're out of stock). Does anyone know if they have the means to unlock an 8320 and send it to me as they have this in stock?
