I have a hypothetical question...

If for some reason I have an issue with my Titanium phone in 6 months from now and I call to get it replaced via warranty, does AT&T know what color phone I have ? I currently have Titanium but could I request a Crimson or pretend that I have a Crimson.. change of color...

just curious if AT&T keeps track of the color of your phone as well... anyone ?

They know exactly what you have. If you log onto AT&T wireless and check out your account, you'll see your current phone and color.

thats not actually true.. often times they dont even have the correct IMEI number associated to your account.

When I was trying to exchange my 8300 few months back due to a warranty issue, they still had me using 8700....

I will agree they track IMEI but not sure if they keep up with color. If ATT owed you another phone for what ever reason, I would think they would give you the color of your choice if available. My ATT account still thinks I am using a 8700 and I have had many phones after that.

I believe the imei on these also identifies the color. I have 5 of each and the first 6 or so numbers are the same for the ones that are the same color but different on the other color. unless it was a coincidence.

There are seperate SKUs for each color, so internaly at least they are tracked as seperate models. Thus there is a different IMEI block used for each color.
