Default Google Maps over WiFi?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a new BB user. 8320 with T-Mobile with the "email only" plan.

When I first downloaded Google Maps, it didn't work over Wifi. I kept adjusting the settings and got it to work (sadly, I don't recall what I did, but it DID work, I promise).

However, shortly after that (like the next day) it stopped working again.

When I launch Google Maps, the blue data transfer arrows light up solid for about 5 seconds, then go off and sporadically light. However no data ever flows.

Can anyone else use Google Maps over Wifi?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, that was helpful.

I phoned T-mobile to ask for the service.

You CANNOT have the BB Feature Enabler if you have any BB plan (as mentioned, I have the email only plan).

Seems an easy thing for the software vendors to connect via any TCP connection instead of only Edge. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the issue.

Plus, I still can't imagine what changed in my settings that allowed Google Maps to work one day, then stop. It's possible the day it worked was the first day I had the device. Perhaps my account got "updated" overnight.

Theoretically, the info at this post should work.

The free "BlackBerry Feature Enabler" can be used if you have NO data plan (according to the T-mobile tech I spoke with).

Based on her limited explanation, I think it allows you to use the GPRS service instead of Edge... but I could be wrong.
