Default Wanted: 8300 original headset

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know where I can get the 8300 original headset? I am searching the Internet high and low and can't find it. I live in Brazil and, although I still have the warranty, the only company in the entire country authorized to sell the Blackberrys and supposed to provide repair service doesn't have the 8300 original headset and has no idea when (or if) they will ever have it. They only have replacement headsets for older models, it's one-side only, not stereo, I don't want those.

I don't want Bluetooth headsets either, they are way too bulky (even the Samsung SBH170 is not up to my standards) and sound quality still tends to be inferior. I really liked the original headset. Sound quality was pretty good, and I really need the microphone and call button.

I've seen an adaptor at Seidio that is supposed to turn any headphone into a headset, but I can't see how that could possibly work. It is (of course) connected to the end of the headphone wire, so the microphone has to hang way below waist line instead of chest height, unless I roll and tuck most of the headphone's wire and... aaargh, no, I don't want any of that. I want the 8300 original headset. Where can I buy it, please?

I would try RIM's website for the OEM Headset....but as far as bluetooth goes... I have the Blueant Z9 and it is far superior to anything I have ever used.... it is small (worn all day and no discomfort) in ear or over ear (with clear hook...so cant be seen) upgradable software fixes via USB, dual Microphones, Noise cancelation...etc.

Thanks, psyct1. That is exactly what I want.

Pinman, I assume you don't listen to music. Or do you have TWO Blueant Z9, one on each ear? Anyway, still bulky.

Thanks to everyone.

Mostly mild here in the Southeast until the beginning of December. Should get hot and sunny around Christmas. But it must be already hot and sunny in the North/Northeast, where it is high summer at least 10 months a year.

I assume you want the beach. Most tourists do. Plenty of eye candy, sure.

No sorry ...do not listen to music on my BB...I see why you would want the factory headset for music...all the Bluetooth stereo headsets are huge or around the head. Will be nice when they can make Stereo bluetooth with two separate in ear headsets.
