Angry Invalid SIM Card?? - 10-23-2007, 05:46 PM

Just purchased a 8320. Purchased as "unlocked- to work on ANY GSM network". I put in my SIM Card and now it says "Invalid Sim Card - HOME"

What is the problem?

Also, on the upper right hand corner there is a sign of that says "SOS". I have no idea what is wrong.

Hmm - guessing here that it's locked.

If you go to Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card and type MEPD.

This will bring up another screen. If the Network option shows "Disabled" then it is unlocked.

Default what if you do ... - 10-25-2007, 06:37 PM

1. On your BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced Options > Sim Card.

2. At that screen type MEPD (see note below) on your keyboard. A new menu will pop up.

on a Curve 8300... But it won't type in MEPD? I tried doing that but oddly no screen pops up...

Need help ~!

This happened to me after I wiped my unlocked device, luckily the buyer I had bought from had the unlock code written down on the inside of the box and all i had to do was imput it again.

actually, only the 8700 series needs to have a SIM card inserted to unlock the device, 8100, 8300, 8800 all do not require you to have a SIM card in the device to unlock the device

The 8830 will not work in the US unlocked. And no there is not unlocking software. A code must be generated by the carrier or an unlocking service like HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, The World’s Cellular Repair Center ß

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8320)

I do not believe you can use a Verizon phone on T-Mobile since Verizon phones do not take SIM cards.

Maybe I'm wrong as we dont have CDMA networks here in Ireland, but I thought the 8330 World Edition phone had a sim card slot also and can be used on 900/1800 networks, which is till no use to wph27 as TMO use 1900 band
