My Blackberry Curve is becoming unresponsive when I scroll up on the trackball. Down and to the sides works fine it's just the upward roll that it's having problems with. My guess is that over time it's going to get more unresponsive just like the old fashion Mouse with a ball in it.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Everyone has at one point or another. Lock the keypad and then while pressing down on the trackball roll it in the opposite direction of the one not working. Doesn't hurt to roll it in all directions while depressed. This will dislodge whatever is keeping from moving (Small debris). Search for Cleaning Trackball on suggestions to keep it clean and working.

Actually, the RIM-recommended method (check the RIM Knowledge Base) is press and roll FIRMLY in the direction of the difficulty.

I had this happen to mine, except the symptom was that pressing the trackball ceased to have any effect, so I had to exchange it. If the cleaning doesnt work, tmo seems to be aware that there are trackball issues with the curve, so they waived any shipping fees and sent me a brand new one overnight. Good luck.....(and be insistent with customer case, I escalated to a supervisor because the csr wanted to know if I had tried the application loader to fix it)
