Default Browser On T-Mobile BB Curve 8320

Please Login to Remove!

I've had a BB Pearl for over 9 months then I bought this BB Curve 8320 about 1 month ago. I have the T-Mobile BlackBerry Unlimited Plan to have full internet access, so why is the BB browser only able to be used on Wi-Fi or T-Zones? I have to change the default browser setting when I'm on Wi-Fi or when I'm on EDGE or I can change it when I use the "Go to" option. I was thinking it was a Service Book issue, so I deleted all of them and resent them from the T-Mobile website. I was thinking there was a problem with Service Books, since T-Mobile offers 2 types of BB BIS Plans now, but that didn't fix the problem.

Anyone have a solution to fixing this or is this how the new Wi-Fi browser works? Btw, I installed Opera to have a browser that just works without having to change those settings always.

When I deleted all of the service books I didn't see any changes in the browser so I restored them from my backup file in case I really needed them.

I just registered the device again on the network as you suggested and there aren't any browser changes.

Let me ask you, if you go to Options>Advanced Options>Browser and Default Browser Configuration, should I see more than the 2 options WiFi Browser & T-Zones?

Btw, I'm using the latest OS also. Thanks.

I had the same problem (I did everything mentioned on these forums including filling out the APN and sending the host routing table) until I called customer service. To get the third option (internet browser), there needs to be a provision activated, and mine was not. For some reason, some people's provision had been sent and some never got it.

After a two minute phone call, I checked my browser and internet browser was the third choice

I had this issue at first, now it's fixed for whatever reason, but when I hjad the problem all I did was install Opera mini. Opera ran off of edge or wifi without any problem, no matter where I was.

Thanks dougng, I was doing some searching and you're right. I had my BlackBerry data service removed for about a month and when the TMO Rep. added it back, she added the BB unlimited email, instead of the BB unlimited plan. I added right data plan to my account while online and removed the other one. I think their system didn't recognize the change, but their billing sure did! Now I just need to call T-Mobile when I get the chance. Thanks for your help!

Opera is awesome, but when I need to download something it invokes the BB browser and won't download unless I have it set on T-Zones. I hope to call T-Mobile and get the problem fixed soon. Thanks!
