Default Adding & Viewing Memos

Please Login to Remove!

I have an at&t Curve 8300 with a 2GB flash card, running v4.2.2.89 OS.
I also have an Intel-Core-Duo iMac that I use to connect via USB to view the card contents (e.g. music, photos, etc).

If I want to add memos/notes (e.g. a text file) I see two problems:

- I created a memo subdirectory on the flash card and added a text file to it. Easy enough, via drop/drag on the flash card when connected via USB to the iMac. But how do I view the text file on the Curve? The memo directory doesn't show up in the Media application.

- Where are the memos stored on the Curve's internal drive? Is there a way to transfer text files to the internal HD via USB without PocketMac or similar?

To summarize:
- Memos on the internal HD are easy to view via the MemoPad application, but I can't figure out how to transfer new memos to the internal HD.

- Memos are easy to transfer via USB to the external flash card, but I can't figure out how to view them on the Curve.

Thanks

No, you can't. Sorry.

Default How to view a memo on the media flash card

Is it possible to view memos (e.g. text files) that reside on my 2GB flash card? I see that the Media application lets you navigate the music, ringtones, photos, and video folders. Do i create a separate folder for them? I hope I'm not locked into just those four folders.

I read someone on here way they could view text files from the media card, but I have not tried. You are basically limited to "media", hence the name.

Look at eFile from Dynoplex, I believe they make a product that allows expanded abilities on the media card.

Thanks for the pointer to eFile, I'll check it out.
Not to be picky but memos are certainly "media", they are "print media", just as a newpaper is considered media

I think the Blackberry converts memos to a proprietary format. It will only store files in that particular format in the internal memos folder. You could add a Note in Entourage and sync it to your Blackberry with PocketMac.
