Question 8310 noob (in fact, BB noob) - car kit / telmap

Please Login to Remove!

Hi peops,

have got my very first BB - a 8310 curve on VF UK - have got the Telmap Navigator up and running, email working, and am luvin' it...

One slight niggle though - I'm fairly sure from trawling through threads that it's not possible to determine the time an SMS was actually sent - only the time it was delivered to the BB - is that true ? Oh, and can I customise the front screen so instead of the "Messages" icon, I have the "SMS and MMS" and my email inbox one distinct (have split my inboxes so they are separate)...

But I digress - main reason for my post is that I think I'm going to stick to my new BB so am looking to get a car kit... It appears that there are loads of options... I've found something promising on ProClip Mounting System x-xChoose Your Country which'll give me a holder for my model and clip for my car - sounds great but I was also wondering what's available in the formula 1 range i.e. hooks up to the car stereo with various functions e.g. calling or Navigator directions routed through speakers...?

As I said - total noob so all help and advice would be gratefully received. many thanks,

Drewbert

drewbert, welcome to the Forums... and love your avatar!

SMS time received is what you see, yes. Not time sent.

If you want to move the SMS icon to the front screen, highlight over it, and click the menu button (left of trackball) and select MOVE ICON, and then move it the top line of the icon screen.
You can use different Themes (Options > Themes), also.

To separate your SMS/MMS from email and put it in a separate icon, go to messages. Click the menu button. Go to options. Go to General Options. Switch SMS and Email inboxes to Separate. After that you should have a new SMS/MMS icon where all of your SMS messages go. You will still have "messages though" but you dont have to use it.
