Guys and Gals, I'm currently looking into buying an 8320 (T-mobile, not to insult anyone's intelligence). Obviously there are several shops out there online that are offering the 8320 basically for free. I'd love to stick with T-mobile and specifically get the 8320 since I'm a college student on a college campus glowing with wi-fi.

Do any of you know how to get around the whole "Must be a NEW account" agreemen, but still sign the contract for 2 years or whatever to get the discount? I'm out of contract, and I'd love to keep my current number. I'm also not married so I can't put the account in anyone else's name, and even if I did so, I don't know exactly if the number would transfer since it's a current T-Mobile number.

Thanks for your quick response. I appreciate it. I'm going to be trolling this forum quite a bit. I made the mistake of buying a Treo 680 back in January of last year, but I just couldn't hold out for a BB with the trackball and a reasonable set of features that I needed such as unlimited IM'ing, camera, etc.

The time has come for me to get a BB finally. Unfortunately, a quick glimpse at the amazon website shows "$74.99 (when purchased with new service plan)" and then it goes to list the rebates to imply that we're going to make money off buying the phone. Oh if only it were so!

I've got my brother's fiance (T-mobile customer service rep) on the case, however she isn't working until tomorrow, and I'm pretty dang impatient. I wouldn't mind switching to AT&T for the GPS feature but boy it seems like their overall BB costs per month are extremely high, and I just got done removing my internet plan from my Palm Treo to save me $30 a month. No thanks AT&T!

in general an upgrade is treated as a new customer nowadays! Try calling tmo customer care and tell them you want to disconnect and see what deal they will give you

yeah we did that for my wifes phone.. was tring to get it for the low like mine on letstalk.. but they could only do it for the 250. at least it wasnt the full price they were asking
