Some of you might have already read my gripe about T-Mobile and them not even offering the slightest discount to me. I've been with them for about 4 years and have YET to exercise a phone upgrade. I'm obviously month-to-month with them now and I'm considering moving over to AT&T just for the curve.

My biggest question to you guys is I need help configuring a plan. I'm frankly disappointed with AT&T's website and their explanation of overage charges because I can't find them.

I'm actually hard-of-hearing so my phone calls are limited to a max of 30-45 minutes total per month. I NEED unlimited texting to anyone, and I figure what good is the blackberry without unlimited data access. Can any of you give me a rough idea of how much that would run me per month through AT&T?

If this is in the wrong subform I'm sorry, as I'm considering this mostly for the 8310/8320. I take it letstalk isn't the best place to get the phone, where would you guys recommend for reliable and quick phone purchases.

If you go with a 34.99 or higher voice plan, unlimited data on a BB is 29.99. I believe the 34.99 plan gives you 600 or so minutes with rollover.

Unlimited texting is 19.99 for text or MMS messages to any carrier.

If you go with a lower voice plan, (which I'm not sure of the pricing) the BB data plan is 34.99 a month for unlimited.

AT&T (BIS) data plan only = 54.99.. OUCH! I rather stay with T-Mobile.

In the market I work in

39.99 gives you 450 daytime minutes and 5000 night and weekend

49.99 gets you unlimited BB data/email and messaging

so about 90 a month total

Any ideas of how much a minute costs in phone plan if i actually use the phone on the unlimited data plan without a phone plan?

it is less expensive than on a normal rate plan, eiher .15 or .25 i believe

I pay $39.99 for BB unlimited data/1500 text with AT&T however that is not the business plan. My voice is $79 for 1350 and unlimited nights & weekends.

If you don't need to make phone calls, or could get away with using a second phone with prepaid minutes, you can get a data only Blackberry plan for $34.99 per month plus $19.99 for unlimited messages. They also have Blackberry plan bundles. $44.99 is unlimited data/1500 messages (each extra msg only $0.03). $54.99 is unlimted data/unlim messages. Basically same cost as data plan plus unlim messages plan, just called personal max and one package instead of 2.

I agree the web-site is bad. I got all the above info from the data plan brochure I picked up at the store. Much easier to see choices. I reccomend picking that up.

Also, if you work for a decent sized company, you might get a discount on the phone and also monthy cost.

WHAT? Who said it was $54.99???? It is only $29.99 for unlimited BIS.

The $54.99 plan XBGM3R was quoting is the BlackBerry Personal Max with unlimited data AND unlimited messaging. I think the OP wanted to have unlimited messaging as one of his requirements.

I would recommend that you stick with T-Mobile and get the BlackBerry Minutes and Mail Plan. This plan gives you 1000 Anytime Minutes, along with Unlimited Text Messaging and Data for $59.99.

Personal max does not include BlackBerry service. Its just a data plan for their PDAs. I already went that route and never got the browser. The rep on phone told me it was wrong plan, switched me to $29 unlimited BIS and $19 unlimites txt and everything came back.

That's strange. On their web site it shows as BlackBerry Personal Max, which seems to be misleading. I would think that it would mean that it would be unlimited BlackBerry Data. It is even in a sub-section called BlackBerry Personal on their web site. Are you referring to the PDA Personal Max Plan?

Print it out and take it to them. When I went into T-Mo they didn't know what I was talking about so I showed them what I had printed off their website.

Unlimited texting is $9.99 right now as well.
