I have a friend with an 8300 - I helped him download music onto a new microSD card. He then wanted to remove (delete) all the music from the SD card and start over. When he plugs in the cable and enters Mass Media mode, no files show up on the SD card - just the empty folders (blackberry, music, video, etc.).

However, he can access the media player and it still lists and plays the music.

I have an 8800 and when I go to play music, I can select Media Card or Preloaded, etc. I don't see this option on the 8300. Is it possible that the music was loaded on the "built-in" memory instead of the media card?

I've read other 8300 threads suggesting that it may take some time for the media player to recognize all music - is it possible that this is all just cached and it will be removed eventually?

You said you accessed the folders via Mass Media Mode....have you tried to see if the files are on the Blackberries SD card through the Media Manager Application???

The music will be in the cache until the next time you reboot the device.
