Welcome to BlackBerry Forums!

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan? What does it show on the top row? GPRS? EDGE? edge?

I do believe you need at least SOME kind of data plan. You can use a BB without a Blackberry Data Plan and get basic phone/SMS services, but anything more needs data services from your carrier.

If it shows gprs (and not GPRS) you will not be able to do anything on the BB. Contact your carrier and make sure you have a BlackBerry Data Plan

Default fellow uk bb user

howdy mate im new on this particular forum too,
first congrats on getting a bb
comiserations on going with O2 there customer services is the worst in the world (bar British gas, i see a link there)
if youv only got the small gprs, chances are it hasnt been activated yet, usually about 24- 48hrs after purchase, and even then only if the guy in the shop new about bb's and wasnt just used to selling 3310 nokias,
you need to go to got to blackberrys o2 site, (not sure of the address sorry....mine was BlackBerry Internet Service.) and put in your pin and imei code, off the side off the box, if it wont accept it o2 havnt properly registered the data plan, and a quick phone call such sort it,
sorry if youv done that or im teaching you to suck eggs, but i had those probs originally
