I'm on the phone with VZW right now...will update as soon as the CSR comes back on the line.

EDIT

Got one!
I was upgrade eligible...so the price was $182, and there's a $50 rebate to send in. So $132 for a BB? Not too terrible.

Finally!

At this time of day, when will you get it? Funny, I got quoted $127 earlier and have seen some $119 posts. Not that I care about the difference. Should have ordered earlier.

Not sure when I'll get it. I suppose if it shows up tomorrow I will be pleasantly surprised...In my experience with VZW (on the business side), they are pretty quick to get them out. This one is on the consumer side, replacing my RAZR.

It IS late though, so if it's not till Monday, I will survive with my 8820 & RAZR till then.

I hadn't really thought about calling customer service till I saw the couple posts here...so THANKS for those posts!

Is may 9th the date for everyone to order online or will it hit the stores on that date? when you place your order, do they sign you up for a calling plan also?
one other thing, whats the different between upgrading and people paying
$270? sorry, but i'll be my first blackberry so iam new at all this.

been reading up on all other forums for about 2 hours and from what im understanding this might have been an accidental early release, you have to call the 800 number and tell the rep some code and then it pulls up and you can order. from what i have read alot have ordered and its on its way via over night shipping but others who called later werent allowed to purchase it. they were told they had to wait till the may 9th release. i guess we will find out in the next couple of days

Ask not what your blackberry can do for you, but what you can do for your blackberry

Here is what the deal is:

Regardless of your account (B2B or not) they will deny the availability unless you tell them the stock code (bb8330c)

They will ship it overnight (arrive Monday)

The pricing is: $69.99 w/ new every 2 ($100), business discount ($100), mail in rebate ($50), 2 yr contract

In stores and online May 9th. It is in their systems...they told me.

Mike

Talking Just ordered my 8330c a few minutes ago - 05-02-2008, 10:41 AM

Called VZW customer service (800-922-0204), asked the rep to order the Blackberry Curve. She looked it up (SKU # bb8330c)and said, "No problem"!

She also advanced my New-Every-Two date to today (from May 19th)!

No hassles, etc.

It took me 12 times calling different numbers, but I finally got Aaron to order one for me. It was $319 - $100ADC. Should I expect to also receive a $50 MIR? Keep trying it's possible.

What a bunch of BS...

Just spoke to my Biz rep, he says "Yes" they are in stock, and "No, they will NOT bereleased until next Friday"

Any order that passes the admin desk, (which needs to happen b4 shippment) will be rejected. And this is the guy who got me my Pearl hand delivered the day it came out last year...

So whomever is making these claims, I would take with a grain of salt...

I would agree with Jawsnj... I just called my rep and they are not showing being able to ship order before the 9th. He wouldn't even let me pre order.

I just got an email from my business rep for personal use:

Hi Mike. Good news. The Curve is scheduled to launch on May 9th, but I just got word that they are in the warehouse and I can order them now. For you the price will be $114.99 with a new 2 year contract. Here's the order form for you to fill out. Fax it back to me with a copy of your work ID when you are ready to order.

My company has a contract with Vzw so I think that is how I am eligible for personal order form.

If the above it true than why would they deny a person with a contract threw the state when I called.

Haha, I don't know but the above is definately true, I'm not bored at work trying to mess with this forum. If you work for a company that has a verizon contract, I can forward you the form. I'm in NYC and so is my rep.

We have a VZW business acct as well...perhaps that's why they (supposedly) allowed my order. At this point, whatever happens...happens. It's all good.

I'll give them another call I work for a college in Boston and we have a contract with them. If you have a chance can you send the form?

I am also in NYC, but I work for local government. So they gave me the discounted business price . The total came to 254.67 less the 100.00 rebate for a total of 154.67 for a 1 year contract. I was able to complete my order today.

I must have the worst luck they tell me that you can't get the phone till the May 12th
pre-order. Is there another number besides *611 that I should be calling and who are people talking to?

Thats what I called, I guess I'll just wait till you can get it from the store, since the rep for the college is non responsive to the e-mails.

No option, just said "upgrade phone" when it asks you what would you like to? But allot of people are getting turned down for this now. I had a special circumstance, maybe thats why they allowed me to order it.

YEAH!!!!!! I'm in. She stated it will be going out today, and I should have it by Monday.... The company I work for also gets a discount..... I was going to try and call my rep, but I didn't have to. Based on how my account is setup I'm gravy! I even asked her are you sure this phone is going to be sent to me by Monday and she assured me. She didn't sound unsure at all..... I'll definetly let everyone know what happens. On a side note I've had several issues with BB's since I purchased in Feb. I switched a pearl 3 times before they allowed me an 8830 at no additional cost. So I just got the curve for nothing extra out of my pocket..... We'll see. Good luck everyone. Mike

P.S I was also given an order #.

Just got off the 1-800 number and had to give to account rep the (SKU # bb8330) number without the "c" at the end per the earlier post. She had to look "several different ways" to find the Curve but she was persistent and did finally find it. You need a friendly, helpful rep to come up with the phone.

Mine is set to arrive Tuesday and I've got the order confirmation number.

How long after an order is placed before you can see it in the system? I'll check later todayif not tomorrow to see if there's any tracking information.

You guys are lucky, I am itching to upgrade from my 8130 to a 8330. Who ever gets theirs first, please let us know how good it is as a phone, my 8130 stinks as a phone compared to my 8830 and even my 8703e. I usually have to use my BT headset to get decent call quality.

Smile Just to confirm... - 05-02-2008, 01:11 PM

After my earlier post today, quite a few of you expressed a certain amount of skepticism.

I live in the Los Angeles market, my Verizon account is discounted (government employee), and my price for the device was approx $150, before the $50 mail-in rebate (not counting tax). I also had to renew my contract for another two years.

The rep couldn't find the Curve in her system right away, but put me on hold for a few minutes, then came back and said that it was "certainly doable". I gave her the sku # I found at CrackBerry.com – The #1 Site for BlackBerry Users & Abusers forums:
(Apparently, Verizon Curves available NOW - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

The device is being shipped Fedex two-day delivery, and I was told to expect it Monday.

Who knows how the mysterious wheels of luck spin at Verizon Wireless when it comes to this kind of stuff. I do know from experience that if one doesn't succeed at first with a customer service rep, then call back and try again with another rep.

Good luck everyone!
