Yes, it's possible, as long as it's not one of the preloaded ringtones. I don't think it matters which way you do it as far as quality goes.

I was trying this with my wife last night, and while there is a "receive using bluetooth" menu item, there was no "send using bluetooth" menu item like on my 8800. So she couldn't send me any. :(

verizon BBs i think have the bluetooth locked down like their other phones dont they? I know fireproof this probably doesnt apply to yours, but might help others. I was trying to send from my 8300 ATT to my brothers 8830 Vzw and it failed every time.

Fireproof was your wifes bb paired with anything at the time of transfer?
