Angry Cannot sync calendar but everything else works (grr!)

Please Login to Remove!

After my BES connection was activated, everything seemed to be working - but I soon realized that the calendar was not syncing. The Curve and my Outlook calendar were independent animals.

I discovered that wireless sync was OFF on the Curve. I turned it on. Still nothing. Nothing for days. I am not getting any errors.

I've been screwing around with this all weekend and can't get it to work. I do have one clue that maybe someone can interpret...

When I use the intellisync part of the desktop software and bring up the list of the four categories: address book, calendar, tasks, memos... three of them show they are paired with "Outlook" in the right column but the calendar says it is paired with "Blackberry Wireless Sync." And, the little box on the right is checked only for the calendar.

In addition, at some point when I open the intellisync, it tells me sync will be disabled with everything except the calendar because the other things are on wireless sync. During my fiddling, I did get it to say that it disabled ALL of the desktop sync because ALL of it (including calendar) was wireless. However, calendar syncing was not working.

When I change that calendar partner to "Outlook", it switches off Wireless sync on my Curve.

I appreciate anyone who reads through all this. It's a pretty technical problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

P.S. I had a Pearl and used the same BES without incident

First off, I recommend posting this in the BES Admin forum. Those guys know a lot.

What version of BES are you on? Has the calendar sync ever worked with the Curve?

"BlackBerry Wireless Sync" is the correct setting in PIM sync management. I had a similar problem (I'm on BES 3.6 though) where everything except calendar was working. I deleted the CICAL service book, cleared the calendar using Backup/Restore, and then reactivated. 3.6 used cabled activation though.

Maybe try deleting and then undeleting the service book, and go from there.

Thanks jlaw - appreciate the info.

Just thought I would close this case. I ended up taking my Curve to our university technology office (UTO). At first, they were puzzled by its behaviour. They plugged it directly into the server to reactivate it and got it working. It just took some fiddling. It works now!
