Worth it? (RAZR v3 user) I'm T-mobile so it would be the 8320. I would be coming from a RAZR v3(Yes i know, it's horrible) so it will be a pretty BIG upgrade. I've been researching this phone for a while now but that still doesn't mean anything till it's said and done. I'm more of the entertainment type so i won't be having blackberry internet or email(because the price is stupid and not worth it). I would be getting a 4GB microSD as well because I will definitely be into the texting/music/video/camera part of the phone. Just like some feedback from people who have it. Basically just want to make sure I'm not hyping it up to much because I'm excited and almost read to seal the deal on this phone so i just want a last minute check to make sure. But then again...i have a razr v3 so anything right now is an upgrade. |
$19.99 for unlimited email, data, and internet is high?? Maybe not affordable but definitely not high priced. The Curve might be a bit much if you don't plan on a data plan. However, it does have wifi and you can browse the web with that at home and at hotspots. |

But not paying extra for the email/data/i-net means i absolutely cannot use the web on it correct ? |

Yes, any free, open wifi you can connect to including Starbucks and others. There are some threads on different places that work and don't work. |
Oh wow, thats awesome. I really did want to be able to use the internet on it but i thought no way without the BB plan was it possible. I guess it's just all the more reason for me to get the curve! |
Oh also, since i would have no BB internet/email plan, if i were using a wifi to browse the internet, does that go towards anything on my normal plan? Like minutes or anything? I'm really newbie at wifi stuff if you can't tell :) I definitely didn't research it because i thought it wasn't anything i would be able to use. |

I switched from a V3 razer too. I also switched from ATT/cingular/ATT whom I was with for 7 years. I switched to T-mobile because of the superior rate plans. You just can't beat the my 5. However, I have poorer tmobile reception in my area than I had with ATT. So the clincher for me was when the 8320 came out because I could use the h@h to have better service. As with all new things, I have run into bugs/issues. However once the h@h issues are fixed you simply just can't beat the 8320. It's been a great phone for me. |
sounds great! Thanks for the quick replies. Looks like i will be getting this phone then. Can't wait to rid of this pos razr. |
P.S.: Get a good size micro SD card for it, you won't regret that. And if you want a no hassle set up for the h@h, just get t-mo's router. If they are still doing the rebates, it ends up being free anyways. |
^^^ Good advice. Not sure the rebates are still there but get one anyway (or at least a good Linksys.) |
Ehh, 19 extra a month, can't afford that :o And yea i plan on getting a 4GB SD card for it. |
I just got this phone not too long ago myself, and I can assure you that it's worth it. With regards to the hotspot @ home, you don't need the $19.99 plan in order to make calls over wifi. the plan gives you unlimited minutes while on wifi, but if you don't have it, the minutes come out of your regular bucket of minutes. Although, if you make a lot of calls, you have to watch the minutes closely, as they take a while to be update wifi minute usage. |
I only have the 9.99/mo plan. |
I also upgraded from a Razr V3t to a curve and for me it was well worth it. It has been a long and i do mean long time since i have really been satisfied with a phone. Since you won't be using any of the internet features on it, i don't know how much use it would be to you. I can tell you that the voice quality and volume on it are great and so is the speakerphone. The speakerphone is as clear as when you are on the handset and everyone has commented that they could not tell when i was or was not on speaker. The screen on it is great as well, vivid colors and deep blacks. |

God. I don't know why you wouldn't get the 20 data plan. At first I was like man I don't need that/can't afford it. Once you get your first bill and see how much it is going to be you will be like damn this isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. T-MO is way cheaper then everyone else I still think! P.S. I just switched from the 8100 and I'm happy with my purchase! |
